How to Check Your Name in the Electoral Roll

Three ways to confirm you are on the voter list before polling day — by EPIC number, by personal details, or with your registered mobile number.

Having a voter ID card does not by itself mean you can vote. You must be listed in the electoral roll for your constituency. Names can be removed after a change of address, a duplicate entry or a verification drive, so it is worth checking well before polling day.

Option 1: Search with your EPIC number

1. Find the EPIC number printed on your voter ID card.
2. Enter it in the search box on our home page, or on ECI Electoral Search.
3. Check that the name, relative’s name, age and constituency match your details.

Option 2: Search with your personal details

If you do not have your EPIC number, search with your name, relative’s name, age or date of birth, gender and state. Adding your district and assembly constituency narrows the results. Use the spelling recorded on the roll — it may differ from your other documents.

Option 3: Search with your mobile number

ECI’s electoral-search website also offers a search by the mobile number linked to your voter record. This uses a one-time password sent to your phone, so it can only be done on ECI’s own website. Never share that OTP with anyone else, including this website.

• The Voter Helpline App, published by ECI for Android and iOS.
• The national voter helpline, 1950.
• Your Booth Level Officer (BLO), who keeps the roll for your polling area.

If your name is missing

If you are eligible but not listed, you can apply for inclusion using Form 6 on the Voters’ Services Portal. Electoral rolls are typically frozen for an election some time before polling, so apply as early as possible.
