Voter Search Not Finding Your Name? 8 Things to Try

Getting “no matching record” or a verification error? Work through these checks before assuming your name is missing.

A failed search usually comes down to a small difference between what you typed and what is recorded. Try these checks in order.

  1. Re-type your EPIC number carefully, watching for O/0 and I/1. See what an EPIC number looks like.
  2. Switch search methods. If the EPIC search finds nothing, try Search by details, and vice versa.
  3. Use the roll spelling. Your name may be spelt differently from your Aadhaar or PAN card.
  4. Leave out the last name if you are not sure how it was recorded.
  5. Try age instead of date of birth, or the other way round.
  6. Remove the district and constituency filters, then add them back one at a time.
  7. Check your relative’s name. Use the relative listed when you registered, such as a father, mother or spouse.
  8. Wait a few minutes and retry. ECI’s search service can be busy or temporarily unavailable, and automatic verification sometimes fails.

An empty result is not proofIf these steps do not work, search directly on ECI Electoral Search or call 1950. A “no record” result on any unofficial website, including this one, does not prove your name is missing from the roll.
